Delcita takes ‘Ex-Baby Motha’ to Cayman, Canada
Ex-Baby Motha, the hit comedy play starring Andrea “Delcita” Wright, heads overseas for five shows in Cayman and Canada.
The first show takes place June 18 at Lions Center in Grand Cayman. Wright and her crew then head to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) from June 24-30.
It will be the first time in two years since Wright has taken a production overseas. On Mother’s Day, 2021, The Baby Motha (a modified version of Ex-Baby Motha) played Miramar Cultural Centre in South Florida.
Wright, whose first appearance in Toronto was in 2010 with The Plumber, is looking forward to performing in the GTA again.
“Very much so!… The Delcita fans are just sitting and waiting for a Delcita play. I love to (see) my fans dress up, chit chat and smile while waiting in line,” she said.
Ex-Baby Motha’s GTA run starts June 24 at Refuge Pentecostal Banquet Hall in Ajax with a 7:30 show. The following day, Wright and her cast are at House of Praise Tabernacle in Toronto for two shows (5:30 and 8:30).
The final show, on June 30, takes place at Century Gardens Recreation Centre in Brampton, starting at 8:30.
Trudy Campbell, Kai-Alana O’Conner, Calneth Reid and Derricka Johnson complete the cast of Ex-Baby Motha which is written and directed by Wright.
