Chapelton Maroons join Faulkland FC in Premier League
ST ANN, Jamaica— Chapelton Maroons joined Faulkland FC as the qualifiers for next season’s Jamaica Premier League after coming from two goals down to beat Treasure Beach FC 4-2 in Wednesday’s return leg semi-finals of the Jamaica Football Federation Tier Two competition at Drax Hall for a 6-3 aggregate win.
Faulkland FC had beaten Falmouth United 4-3 on penalties after playing out a 1-1 draw in their second leg game at the same venue on Sunday and set up a final on Sunday, also at Drax Hall.
Chapelton Maroons led 2-1 from the first leg but found themselves trailing 2-3 midway the first half on Wednesday after Jovaughn Williams in the eighth minute and Anfernee Stewart in the 23rd minute scored for Treasure Beach FC.
The Clarendon based team hit back with four goals in 17 minutes, Kaheim Dixon bagged a brace, bringing his team level on aggregate in the 28th minute and restored their lead 4-3 in the 39th minute.
Devonti Hodges made it 5-3 on aggregate in the 43rd minute and Malachi Douglas added a sixth goal in time added in the first half.
On Sunday, Faulkland FC and Falmouth United played out a 1-1 scoreline, their third draw for the season and the game had to be decided on penalties.
O’Brien Robinson had given Faulkland FC the lead in the 24th minute before Kemar Reid equalised in the 90th minute after 30 minutes of extra time failed to break the deadlock, the game was decided from the penalty spot.
