Caricom Secretariat to facilitate public procurement workshop St Lucia
CASTRIES, St Lucia, CMC – The Secretariat of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) will facilitate a three-day workshop in St Lucia, on the development and implementation of strategies to improve the efficiency and transparency of public procurement, while being exposed to the CSME Public Procurement Regime and e-procurement solutions.
A release from the Caricom Secretariat said that participants in the training on the Community Public Procurement Notice Board (CPPNB) are expected to be from both the public and private sectors.
The CPPNB is an integrated Notice Board with 13 National Advertising Portals (NAPs) which Caricom member states should use to publish procurement opportunities and contract awards notices in keeping with commitments under the Community Public Procurement Protocol.
According to the Caricom release, only Barbados and Belize have made use of their National Advertising Portal to publish procurement opportunities.
The training is supported under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) Strengthening Framework for Caricom Integration and Cooperation Process (SFCICP) and will be facilitated by Titus Preville, Director, Caricom Single Market and Trade; Philip McCLauren, Senior Technical Coordinator, CSME; and Derek Browne, Information Technology Specialist.
