Burkett stars as STGC thrash Ardenne 6-0

KINGSTON, Jamaica – St George’s College (STGC) kicked off their ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup campaign in Group A by demolishing Ardenne 6-0 at Sabina Park on Saturday.

Adrian Reid opened the scoring early with a free-kick just outside the box after Brian Burkett was fouled in the area.

Minutes later Joshua Jackson scored his first of the match after being played through by Burkett.

Burkett later joined in on the scoring with an acrobatic finish in the area after capitalising on a goal keeping mistake.

Jackson and Burkett then teamed up again for St George’s’ fourth after Jackson slotted home past Ardenne’s goalkeeper.

Burkett scored his second with a back post header after a cross from the left side from Rhasheed Hanns.

Zabir Taylor’s right-footed curler secured St Georges sixth and final goal in the 44th minute.

All goals came in the first half.
