BB Coke students hailed for rushing injured friend to doctor following Clarks incident
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – BB Coke High students Daejuan Gordon, Gary Bartley and Khari Green were applauded at the St Elizabeth-based institution’s devotion on Monday for rushing their friend to see the doctor after he was beaten for allegedly stepping on his schoolmate’s Clarks shoes.
Another student, Dejaun Powell, was not at school on Monday.
The boys are being hailed far and wide for rescuing and moving on foot Jaheim Colman, 14, after he was beaten unconscious – allegedly by a grade 11 student for stepping on a shoe.
The grade 11 student allegedly assaulted the grade eight student by punching and beating him on his hands and face.
His aunt, Tameka Holness, said she was hurt by the security guard’s alleged failure to report the incident to the school’s administration.

Meanwhile, Colman’s mother, Shantel Gouldbourne, told Observer Online on Saturday that following failed efforts to get a brain scan done at the Mandeville Regional Hospital, Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton informed her that arrangements have been made to transfer her son to the University Hospital of the West Indies.
Dr Tufton in a post on X, formerly Twitter, confirmed that support is being given.
“This is most tragic and painful. Makes me very sad. Myself and the Minister of Education have been in touch with the mother of the child and the medical teams at Mandeville Regional and UHWI to give the necessary support,” he said.
Head of the St Elizabeth Division Acting Superintendent Coleridge Minto on Saturday added that the student will be brought before the Santa Cruz Parish Court on Monday to answer to the charges laid against him.
He was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
