Bail hearing for Noel Maitland set for October 4
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The bail application for Noel Maitland, the cop boyfriend of social media personality Donna-Lee Donaldson, has been set for October 4 at 10:00 am. Maitland is to be remanded until then.
The accused has been in custody since his arrest on July 27.
When he appeared in the Supreme Court on Friday, the judge ordered Maitland to give his fingerprints to the police, which should then be submitted to the Court Registry by September 30.
“You are remanded in custody until then. Please give your fingerprint to the police,” the judge told Maitland.
Additionally, it was disclosed that the Communication Forensic Cybercrime Division (CFCD) report is due by October 28, the Forensic Report by November 11, and statements from several individuals by September 30.
Earlier today, the matter was transferred from the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court via a nolle prosequi, which was entered by the Director of Public Prosecution.
After the documents are prepared, full disclosure is expected to be made. As of now, the defence team only has partial disclosure.
On Friday, the court also approved the request to have relatives of both Maitland and Donaldson present during the bail application.
During the proceeding, protesters were outside the court, as they continued to demand that Maitland be held accountable for the presumed murder of Donaldson. The popular social media influencer has been missing since July 11.
Police reports indicated that on July 11, about 10:00 pm, Donaldson was picked up at her house by Maitland in a black BMW motor car to spend the night with him at an apartment located at Chelsea Manor.
However, Donaldson’s mother, Sophia Lugg, reported to police that she had not seen or heard from her daughter, on July 12.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey announced Maitland’s murder charge at a press conference earlier this month following mounting pressure from the public demanding answers to Donaldson’s disappearance.

In that correspondence, Bailey said investigators have theorised that Donaldson was murdered between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 12.
