Bail denied for SSL fraud accused Jean-Ann Panton after doctor rejects seizure claim
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jean-Ann Panton, the former Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) wealth advisor on multiple fraud charges, was on Thursday further remanded after a judge denied her bail application.
Panton claimed in her application that she had suffered a stroke and at least two seizures since her initial bail application was refused by a High Court judge in late February.’

However, a doctor disputed the claim, stating in court that there was no indication that Panton had any episodes of seizure at the South Camp Road penal facility where she is being housed.
In denying bail, Supreme Court Judge Justice Vinnette Graham Allen stated that she was not convinced that there was any material change in circumstances of the accused at the penal facility. However, the judge ordered that Panton be assigned a nursing aide in lock-up.
Panton was remanded until June 15, when she is to appear in court from a remote location for a case management hearing.
