15-y-o BB Coke student accused of beating younger schoolmate to return to court in November
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — The 15-year-old boy accused of last Thursday’s beating and assault of a younger student at the BB Coke High School in St Elizabeth is to return to court in November.
The teen is charged for assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in relation to the brutal beating of Jaheim Colman, 14.
On Monday, his attorney Hopeton Marshall said the schoolboy was offered bail in the sum of $300,000 when he appeared before presiding judge Dionne Lawrence-Pivott at the Black River courthouse.
However, the teen was scheduled to reappear in court on Wednesday.

The teen is to return to court on November 17.
Marshall told Observer Online that he requested a medical evaluation for his client.
“… It was not ordered by the judge. Counsel asked for one to be done and the request was granted and the cost will be covered by his family. Hopefully it will be ready by the next mention date. Also disclosure was not served because there are a number of outstanding statements yet to be placed on file. A family member of the complainant was present because understandably he and his mother were absent. She revealed that his condition has improved of which we are all happy to hear,” Marshall said.
