She’s My Destiny makes it six from nine
SHE’S My Destiny continued to strengthen her claim as a horse of serious note following her facile victory in a three-year-old and upwards Overnight Allowance contest, her second-consecutive win at this level, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Caymanas Park.
Travelling one mile (1,600m) for the first time, the four-year-old chestnut filly She’s My Destiny toyed with the opposition, posting an easy 6 ¼-length win while clocking a final time of 1:40.2. The accompanying splits of 24.0 x 47.3 x 1:13.1.
Trained by Jason DaCosta and ridden by Anthony Thomas, She’s My Destiny left her starting stall in good order ahead of Best Daughter Ever (Dick Cardenas) but gave up the lead to True Al Sky (Oshane Nugent) leaving the intersection at the seven-furlong (1,400m) point in the contest.
She’s My Destiny maintained her gallop down the backstretch until she was unable to wait any longer, surging to the front approaching the half-mile (800m). From there on it was smooth sailing for She’s My Destiny, who continued to extend her lead with every stride taken. She’s My Destiny won ahead of True Al Sky and Best Daughter Ever.
Bred by Bern Identity out of the Traditional mare Woman Is Boss, She’s My Destiny was winning for the sixth time from nine career starts.
“This filly is improving but is one we at the stables have to monitor closely. I am pleased with this win,” trainer DaCosta said.
