Derrimon is Lifetime Achievement awardee
DERRIMON Trading Company Limited is the recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards.
Founded 25 years ago, Derrimon has lived by its powerful manifesto, ‘Believe In Better’ which is not just a slogan but a testament to an open-ended commitment to the evolution of excellence. It reflects an uncompromising approach to doing business, grounded in the belief that fulfilling the power of our potential is a continuous journey.
The story of Derrimon is anything but ordinary. It began with a humble entrepreneur whose obedience and faithfulness to God led to doors opening in unimaginable ways. Derrick Cotterell, the visionary founder, chairman and CEO, alongside his dedicated family, including wife Monique and committed team members, navigated a path of strange coincidences and fortuitous opportunities that could only be attributed to the grace of God.
In just 10 years Derrimon had risen to become one of Jamaica’s leading distributors of consumer products. Today, with principal operations located at 235 Marcus Garvey Drive, Kingston 11, Derrimon’s reach extends far beyond distribution. The company operates the Sampars and Select Grocers retail locations, and proudly owns Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances, Spicy Hill Farms, Arosa Limited, and Woodcats International. Its portfolio further includes New York-based businesses Food Savers NY, Inc and Good Foods For Less, LLC, NY, showcasing Derrimon’s expansion and influence beyond Jamaican shores.
The 25th staging of the Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards is set for June 27 at Devon House in St Andrew.
