Teejay drifts onto another Billboard chart
As the Warner Music promotional machinery moves into high gear, its latest signee, dancehall artiste Teejay, has debuted onto Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay Top 40.
Drift, Teejay’s explosive summer hit, enters the chart at #36. On the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart dated October 7, Drift entered and peaked at #47.
Still on the Rhythmic Top 40, Byron Messia’s Talibans dips from #30 to #37 in its 16th week on the chart. It rose as far as #18.
Talibans stalls at #16 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay while sliding down from #8 to #9 on Rap Airplay.
Over on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, the song remains at #11.
On the Adult R&B Airplay table, Wind Me Up by American inspirational singer Dante Bowe, featuring reggae artiste Anthony B, is a non-mover at #17.
Moving now to the streaming and sales-driven Billboard Reggae Albums chart where Legend by Bob Marley and the Wailers spends 199 non-consecutive weeks at #1.
Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy remains at #2, with Sean Paul’s Dutty Classics Collection and UB40’s Greatest Hits at #3 and #4, respectively.
Sean Paul’s Dutty Rock moves up two places to #5, while Stick Figure occupies #6, #7, and #8 with Wisdom, Set in Stone, and World on Fire, respectively.
No Love by Byron Messia is at #9 and Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley is firm at #10.
On the New York Reggae chart, I’m the One by Kenya Morris spends a second week at #1, while Let My People Go by Buju Banton rises from #12 to #10.
Good Woman by Da Flame at #27 and Switch on You by Romain Virgo at #29 are this week’s new entries.
This Man of Mine by Marcia J Ball is #1 on the South Florida Reggae chart for a third week.
Meanwhile, Alone by Kashif Lindo moves up to #3 and Rasta Man by Richie Spice steps up from #12 to #10.
At Last by Nikki Fyah (#23) and Brutal by Mykal Rose (#24) are the new entries.
