Streetz Festival coming home to Kgn
The third staging of Streetz Festival will be coming home to Kingston!
After five years, Streetz will be hosted at National Stadium Car Park on September 2, 2023.
Past stagings in St Ann, in both 2017 and 2018, have seen upwards of 5,000 patrons each with the last staging bringing an impressive crowd of 7,000 patrons. Patrons enjoyed acts Ding Dong and Sky Juice from Metro Media.
This year, crowds will party to dancehall heavy hitter Masicka on his return to the Kingston stage.
The festival, this year, partners with Dragon Stout as well as Pepsi, Willcom Creative, Elite Creations, and SMA Talent Agency.
Chad Williams, a directors of the Streetz team, noted: “We’ve had some amazing experiences hosting Streetz in St Ann; the crowd and vibes there are especially unique. However, we know the Kingston and Portmore massive are excited for Masicka’s return to the south coast, and we anticipate our biggest staging yet.”
What makes Streetz Festival unique is its commitment to the heart of dancehall culture. Not only will patrons enjoy dancehall music all night from the likes of Boom Boom, Shukkle Bus, Chrome, and Coppershot, but the entire feel of the festival space will reflect an authentic dancehall street dance.
Showcasing more than Jamaican music and dancehall style, Streetz will have authentic Jamaican food on sale.
Ultimately, Streetz Festival aims to revive and uplift the standard of the Jamaican dancehall festival as it returns to the birthplace and heart of dancehall music.
Streetz Festival returns on Sept 2 with Masicka as the headliner.
