Pandemic Records
ON January 20, Atlanta-based, Jamaican-owned label Pandemic Records released its sophomore project, Things and Time rhythm.
The project features songs from seven artistes, both established and up-and-coming acts.
Sheldon Edwards and his brother Leroy are the main forces behind Pandemic Records. According to Sheldon, the label prides itself on producing songs with positive messages.
“As a young label, Pandemic Records strives to keep it real and positive no matter what the media or artist wants. Our goal is to give good artists, whether young or old, an opportunity to be heard with positive music,” Sheldon Edwards told Jamaica Observer‘s Splash.
Featured on Things and Time rhythm are Things Inside by Chronic Law, Self Defense by Ikaya, Shine Bright Like a Star by Hero, 10 Times Harder by Takeova, Fighter by JahLama, Tidy by XIP Boss, and Rich Now by Frass Khalifa.
The Edwards brothers are from Clarendon but relocated to Atlanta several years ago. They made their production debut in 2021 with the Logic Mix rhythm which featured songs by Sizzla, Mr. Easy, Skystar, Hero, Munga Honorable, and Fantan Mojah.
“We are originally from Clarendon, but we now reside in Atlanta, Georgia. We started music because we grew up seeing members of our family involved in music, so we grew to love music naturally,” said Sheldon Edwards.
He continued, “Our aim is to reach number one on the Billboard chart with songs to show the industry that any artiste or label can do it with positive music.”
Commenting on the Things and Times project, he said, “We’re very excited about this project, every song on the rhythm is a potential hit. We’re confident that this rhythm is another winner for our label, and we plan to put a lot of promotion behind it.”
Pandemic Records is gearing up to sign up-and-coming talent this year.
“We’re getting ready to sign some of the new acts that we’ve been working with. I don’t want to disclose too much information now. As soon as we tie everything up, we’ll make an announcement in the media,” said Sheldon.
