Paco General does it by design
AFTER scoring major collaborations with dancehall favourites like Masicka and Konshens, deejay Paco General is equally pleased that his latest track, Designa, is gaining traction.
“Designa is about what women are currently doing right now and also about men spoiling their ladies. It was inspired by what’s going on in the world right now — ladies getting their bodies done and wearing designer clothes,” said the entertainer whose given name is Clydwin Rutherford.
Produced by Track Starr Music Group and Mill A Week Records, the song was officially released on April 29. Directed by Xebian Melendez and shot by FilmTechVisuals, the accompanying video was filmed in Miami, Florida.
Paco General added that he has all the right elements that make him set apart in a condensed dancehall industry.
“I have a natural love for music. My sound and my style are different,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Hailing from Glengoffe, in St Catherine, Paco General has been at it for seven years. He is known for his party-vibe music; his biggest to date include Wealthy, Dung Deh, Mr Death featuring Masicka, and Do It Me Self featuring Konshens and J Sharp.
Aiming to continue growing his reach as an artiste and producing multiple hits, the artiste is putting in the work with more singles on the way, as he hopes to catapult to stardom some day.
“I would like to do a special shoutout to my team Vizzle, Chiney K, Dynas and everyone that’s supporting Paco General,” he said. “In five years I see myself having a household name in dancehall music and international.”
