Lobster Fest — more than another seafood show
Organisers of Lobster Fest are banking on seafood and reggae to be a winning combination for them tomorrow at Hope Gardens in St Andrew.
The versatility of the popular crustacean will be on display through dishes prepared by professional and celebrity chefs.
Talisa Taylor, publicist for promoters Savage Entertainment, told the Jamaica Observer that Lobster Fest is meant to be more than another seafood show.
“Lobster has always been a delicacy for many people, but we have not seen many lobster-dedicated events. We wanted to create a premium event for food enthusiasts, and to encourage food tourism. We are creating opportunities for the fishermen and fisherwomen and other members within the food industry when we host events of this nature,” she said.
The diverse offerings of lobster will be complemented by performances from Richie Stephens, Jai Kingston, Suspense, and Kevin Downswell.
Part proceeds from Lobster Fest will go to Acts of The Holy Spirit Ministry Kids Community Outreach, located in Grant’s Pen, St Andrew.
Dennis Osbourne and Theo Smith, chefs who have worked with government ministries and the diplomatic corps, and Orthneil “Lobster Belly” Edwards of Hellshire Beach in Portmore, are some of the culinary experts who will be on show
