‘Kippo’ does track with Keisha White
DANCEHALL artiste Kiprich has teamed up with British Rhythm and Blues singer Keisha White for the song My Heart Is a Jail which is featured on his new album, Kippo.
The track, which was released earlier this year, is produced by 9 Mile Productions.
“She (Keisha White) was in Ocho Rios early this year and I was also a performer at the venue and she stayed back and watched my set. She was impressed and afterwards we talked about recording together… hence came the single,” Kiprich told the Sunday Observer.
White, 25, released her debut album Seventeen in 2005. One year later, she released The Weakness In Me, which is her biggest hit song to date, peaking at number 17 on the United Kingdom’s Singles chart.
Besides working on Kippo, Kiprich (real name Marlon Plunkett) is preparing for two weeks of shows in Europe, which include an appearance at this weekend’s Reggae Jam Festival in Bersenbruck, Germany. The two-day festival also features Israel Vibration, Warrior King, Stranger Cole and Lee Scratch Perry. This will be followed by performances in Belgium and Finland
“This is about my fourth or fifth time to the continent. Although Europe more gravitate towards the reggae side of our music I am well received there,” he said.
Kiprich is known for songs like The Letter, Facebook, and Telephone Ting.
