Jamaica Family Fest for Heroes’ Weekend
AFTER eight successful stagings, the Jamaica Family Fest (JFF) returns this Heroes’ Weekend to Kingston and Montego Bay.
The event, which is free to enter, is scheduled from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm at Harmony Beach in Montego Bay on Saturday, October 15, and at the Kingston Waterfront in downtown Kingston on Monday, October 17.
According to organisers, JFF is a way of giving back to the community and an opportunity for local businesses to be highlighted.
“The event captures the best of Jamaica’s food, music, vibes, culture, and business services all in one place at one time. JFF promotes national pride and Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage while giving tourists and locals an authentic Jamaican experience,” said Andrew McKinley CEO of Gospel Linkup.
With Montego Bay being added to this year’s execution the team felt that the Second City needed an event like this after years of zones of special operations (ZOSOs) and COVID-19-related lockdowns, and an obvious need for more family-centred events.
“Residents in MoBay have been hungry for a wholesome family event they can go to. Parents have looking for places they can take their kids to where the music is clean and the environment is safe. Harmony Beach Park and the UDC [Urban Development Corporation] has partnered with us to fulfil that need so we plan to deliver a premium quality event for the family, and we invite corporate Jamaica to join us in the experience,” McKinley added.
JFF promises to provide a place to relax and unwind while enjoying activities for all ages, culminating with performances from acts, including Goddy Goddy, Lubert Levy, and Chi Ching Ching. Popular social media comedians Able Boss and Cuz are also part of the line-up.
