Izrel hopes for Burna Boy collab
ON the cusp of Burna Boy’s visit to Jamaica for his debut performance, up-and-coming singer Izrel Di Cotton Pikka is dreaming of a collaboration with the Afrobeats heavyweight.
“I like his energy, his style of writing and delivery that would be compatible with mine, and he’s a great performer,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
“I’m good at creating music — it’s my gift from the Creator. I got lots to say and love teaching people through music,” he added.
Burna Boy will be at the National Stadium in St Andrew on Sunday. Other acts slated for the show are Popcaan and Lila Iké.

Meanwhile, Izrel Di Cotton Pikka is celebrating the release of his latest single Hybrid, co-produced by Diet Monkey Inc and Farrin Badniss on the A20 Riddim.
“Hybrid speaks of the super-sexy, seductive, top-notch ladies that are a cut above the rest — the sort of ladies that are exceptional in the bedroom and know how to treat a man,” said the artiste.
Izrel Di Cotton Pikka (given name Corey Garvey) explained that he and the producer have a long-standing relationship.
“We are friends from José Marti High School and we have been friends ever since. We have been working together for years now on different projects and I really think that this is the breakout track for us,” he said.
A lifelong musician, Izrel Di Cotton Pikka has been in the professional game for some time.
“I have been doing music since I was a child, it’s a natural talent. My musical creativity is much like my life, it’s always from the heart and is filled with colourful flows laden with my lyrical prowess and mastery storytelling over many genres, and delivered with every fibre of my being,” he added.
His other releases include Pack Up Yu Tings (featuring Ras Ajai), which was co-produced by Dean Fraser, Loyal Frenz, and Hawd Hayz.
