Good vibes at Let’s Groove
Despite last Friday’s inclement weather, patrons refused to give up a night of fun on the town. They turned out in their numbers at the second staging of Let’s Groove held at South Deck on South Avenue in Kingston.
With respected DJs including Johnny Kool, Arif Cooper and DJ Rich Rocc, the guests were taken on a nostalgic journey back in time to relive the music of the 1990s and 2000s.
Kurt Dunn is the promoter of Let’s Groove.
“The concept of Let’s Groove Party is to provide a relaxing, fun-filled environment for patrons to come and enjoy the best hits of the 1990s and 2000s. Our first staging was in 2014 and it has grown since that time. We got really good support at this our second staging,” said Dunn.
Dunn continued, “This staging was the ‘Birthday Edition’, where patrons came out to help celebrate my birthday. It was an ‘after-work jam’. The venue was separated into two parts — VIP and general admission. The VIP experience included finger food, bottle service and drink inclusive all night. Supporters danced ‘rub-a-dub style’ from start to finish as their favourite hits played all night.”
Dunn said he was pleased with the support from sponsors and patrons.
“We had patrons attending from as far as St Thomas,” he shared.
According to Dunn, the highlight of the event was seeing the patrons coming out to support, despite the rain that fell during the day into the evening.
“Even though it rained all day and into the evening, the patrons still turned up in their numbers and had a great time. That for me was the highlight,” he said.
Dunn also made special mention of the partners who helped to make the event a memorable one.
“I really have to thank Rum-Bar Rum Cream, M10 Bar and Grill, Puerto Anton, Ping’s Fabrics, Fyah, the Jamaica Observer, Wisynco, Vantage One, Paramount Royalties, Double 5 Productions, and Signtex for helping to make Let’s Groove a success,” said Dunn.
