Extol on a musical high
EXTOL Spence is no stranger to producing hit songs. The producer is principal of the dynamic Extol Music, which recently scored a hit with Valiant’s Cut all Losses.
Released on October 28, Cut all Losses is trending at number two on YouTube, down from the number one spot.
“It was destiny that brought the talented deejay to voice on my beat. A mutual beatmaker played the beat for Valiant and he immediately gravitated towards it; instantly he voiced on the track. Valiant then teased a snippet of the track; that’s when I found out he was on the beat and I reached out, we fixed things,” said the 33-year-old producer.
Born in Montego Bay, St James, Spence attended St James High School.
He said a career in music was inevitable as his father was an audio engineer.
“My father loved music as a music engineer,” he shared. “Growing up and seeing him make beats and also playing instruments made me fall in love with music and I knew from ever since that was what I wanted to do. I was determined to do it because I knew it was my calling. So, it was only natural that I did it full time.”
Spence names Steven McGregor, Notnice, Russian, Timbaland and Swiss Beatz as having the biggest influence on his career.
To date, he has worked with Teejay, Govana, Rygin King, Chronic Law, Tommy Lee, Masicka, and Prince Swanny.
