Akhice, iestro release Heartache
Father and son artistes iestro and Akhice have taken a painful situation and turned it into a track titled Heartache to inspire listeners.
“The inspiration for this song came from my son Akhice, when his mom passed away and he couldn’t attend the funeral because his paperwork was not ready for him to travel at that time. He was extremely devastated, and I had to be consoling him; I really felt his pain,” iestro told the Jamaica Observer.
Produced by Drewgad, the track was officially released in July.
A first-time collaboration, iestro further noted that he and his son had a seamless experience.
“This is my first time working with Akhice on a song and definitely not the last. I am very proud to say my legacy will be in good hands,” iestro expressed, adding, “My hope for this song is that it reaches out to the masses and inspires the people who can relate. The vibe is definitely growing by the day,” he said.
As only his second release of his career, following the June 2023 single X6 Gawd, this new track sets the tone for what’s to come from Akhice.
The positive feedback so far is a great indicator of his promising future as an artiste.
“My hopes for this track are endless. This is a timeless song, so I have high expectations for this track,” Akhice told the Observer.
Born Akheem Howe, Akhice says he draws inspiration from real-life experiences.
“My style of music is basically Dancesoul music. I sing from my heart, but I also sing about what I see happening around me,” he explained.
Following this release, expect more from the artiste in the coming months.
“What’s next for me is creating my EP for 2024 and just getting on a different level by then. I’m going to keep expressing myself more, showing what I have to offer as an artiste to this generation and beyond,” Akhice said.
Meanwhile, iestro has past releases such as Easy Breezy, Mama Hazel, and Stronger. He, too, has other productions in the works. iestro also has several new productions in the pipeline.
“I’m currently working on new music, and I will also be doing two music videos — for Mama Hazel and Bigger Token,” the artiste said.
