Marriage of convenience
JAMAICA National General Insurance Company Limited (JNGI) said on July 18 that its combo offer of auto and property insurance is a cocktail of benefits available primarily to its JNGI SilverShield members who are also enrolled in the Caribbean Community of Retired Persons (CCRP).
The CCRP is a non-profit organisation for individuals aged 50 years and older.
The JNGI clients are being offered a combination of benefits which include discounted coverage for auto, content and home insurance.
A response provided by JN on Monday indicated, “JNGI SilverShield provides members with attractive insurance coverage for their property and contents as well as up to 35 per cent discount on motor vehicle insurance if their home is insured with JNGI.”
Additionally, it was outlined, JNGI motor insurance policyholders benefit from a 25 per cent discount for services provided by the Jamaica National Group, personal accident coverage of up to $150,000, and accident forgiveness of up to $1 million. Additionally, it was said, the product includes free membership in the Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA) —a JN Group member company delivering roadside assistance along with other convenient services such as document renewal and valet services.
A company spokesperson explained, “JNGI SilverShield was specifically created for members of the Caribbean Community of Retired Persons (CCRP), an organisation of more than 11,000 members founded by Jean Lowrie-Chin.
“The product was designed to facilitate seniors, especially those who are retired, to access insurance benefits and protection for their home and motor vehicle,” it is noted.
The product is offered solely through leading insurance broker CGM Gallagher, providers of health insurance to members of CCRP.
JNGI stated, “As we do with all our products and services, we consistently monitor the performance of the JNGI Silvershield.”
