MBU hold Arnett Gardens 2-2 in JPL
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Cellar dwellers Montego Bay United (MBU) came from behind twice to hold Arnett Gardens to a 2-2 draw in their Jamaica Premier League game played at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Sunday.
The draw snapped a six- game losing skid by MBU but they are still rock bottom on six points as Arnett Gardens stayed in third place on 32 points and have failed to win three of their last four games.
Marlon Allen gave Arnett Gardens the lead after 27 minutes but Nevaun Turner leveled from the penalty spot in the 39th minute. Arnett Gardens restored their lead in the 54 th minute when Romeo Guthrie’s cross from the touchline came off the MBU goalkeeper Davonnie Burton and into the goal.
MBU hit back four minutes later when Kristoffe Murray finished off a good move by the ‘home team’, slotting home from close range.
Leaders Dunbeholden were held to a 1-1 draw by Tivoli Gardens and inked up to 39 points, three more than second placed Waterhouse who plays on Monday.
Harbour View beat Portmore United 2-0 in their game while defending champions Cavalier FC and Vere United played out a 0-0 draw in the first game of the double-header at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
