Cops hoping surveillance video will help ID suspects in Hanover businessman’s murder
HANOVER, Jamaica — The police in Hanover are hoping that a video showing the brutal slaying of a businessman will help them identify and capture the shooters.
On Wednesday, 36-year-old He Jing, the operator of a supermarket and wholesale, was gunned down during a robbery at his establishment in the Just 1 Plaza in Orange Bay.
The incident reportedly took place at 4:45 pm.

The surveillance video shows two armed men in hoodies entering the establishment as customers milled about.
One of the men was dressed in what appeared to be a grey and black hoodie; the other sported a black hoodie with a red mask covering his face.
On entering the establishment, the men shot at Jing, who was at the cash register. They initially missed but the businessman was eventually hit and fell to the ground. The shooter wearing the mask pumped several more bullets into him as he lay on the floor.
A male customer, who was at the counter, crouched down low in an effort to escape the bullets. It is unclear if he was hurt during the incident.
Another customer, who placed his head on a nearby counter in an effort to avoid looking at the shooters, was thrown to the floor by the masked man who then stole liquor and other items. His crony stole what appears to be a large sum of cash from the register.
Both men then walked away with their loot.
One resident, who was among curious onlookers who gathered at the scene yesterday, called for a curfew in the area to rein in the parish’s spiralling crime rate.
“Mi feel lakka seh dung yah suh have ah higher crime rate,” she said. “Drap curfew down yah suh.”
The Green Island police are investigating the incident.
