What is one key change you believe needs to happen — whether in the workplace, community, or society —to create real progress for women, and how can you (or have you) contributed to making it happen?
One key change that needs to happen in the workplace, community, and society is for more women to pay it forward actively.
While many women serve as mentors, fewer take on the role of sponsors, and sponsorship is crucial for real progress. What’s the difference? A mentor shares knowledge and guidance to help you grow, but a sponsor goes beyond that by advocating for you in key spaces, positioning you for opportunities, and ensuring you get a seat at the table. I have personally benefited from sponsorship by other women, and I firmly believe that as we rise, we should lift others with us. Success should be a collective journey, not a solo climb. Paying it forward is part of my ethos, and I am committed to doing this for every woman I encounter on my journey as long as I live.
