Niesha Doyle: On empowering women through leadership and integrity
INTERNATIONAL Women’s Day celebrates strength, resilience, and progress. For Niesha Doyle, quality manager at Seprod Distribution Centres – Facey Commodity Limited and Industrial Sales Limited, real progress for women is not just about leadership roles but fostering a culture of integrity, perseverance, and empowerment.
Doyle’s journey in manufacturing and distribution is one of determination. Starting as a food safety officer at International Biscuits Limited in 2016, she steadily advanced to her leadership position through hard work and commitment to quality. Along the way, she overcame significant challenges, including shifting the cultural mindset within the industry.
“The biggest challenge is culture,” she explains. “Before there is a business, there are the people and the society that influence behavioural patterns and ways of thinking.”
Implementing structured quality systems such as ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 required persistence, employee engagement, and strong leadership. Doyle believes knowledge empowerment is key to meaningful change.
As a woman in leadership, she understands the barriers aspiring female professionals face. She encourages women to stand firm in their principles.
“Strive to be the woman who is respected, even if you are not liked,” she advises. “Don’t be intimidated. Many start out not knowing what to do in manufacturing and distribution. Shadow leaders and others who will strengthen your skills.”
Doyle attributes her success to faith, discipline, and values instilled by strong female role models. She believes true equality is not about competition, but recognising and leveraging the unique strengths of both men and women in the workplace.
Her message to young women is clear: “Manage your time wisely, keep friendships that edify you, and never be selfish. Do unto others as you desire them to do unto you.”
She acknowledges her faith in God as the foundation of her accomplishments.
“Without God, my advice on integrity, morality, and perseverance is meaningless,” she shares. “I am imperfect, but my faith guides me through challenges and triumphs alike.”
By embodying these principles, Niesha Doyle is not just breaking barriers, she is paving the way for future women leaders to rise, thrive, and make an impact in the industry and beyond.
