Tiffany Wright: Blooming Single, Confidently and Boldly
IN a world that often prioritises romantic relationships and puts pressure on women — especially Christian women — to find ‘Mr Right’ and get married as soon as possible, Tiffany Wright is challenging the status quo with her empowering new book, Blooming Single, Confidently and Boldly.
Wright — a marketer, published author, and ordained minister of religion — penned the insightful guide for Christian women navigating the path of singleness, in the months leading up to her 37th birthday which she celebrated on June 7. She shared with All Woman that through this book she is using her journey to inspire other unmarried women to walk boldly in faith and favour.
“I started to write down my thoughts as I reflected on my single journey over the last year,” she shared. “It started out as just a way to keep track of the gems I found while reading scriptures, enjoying experiences, or having conversations with others about the advantages of single life. Soon I realised that my thoughts were beginning to take the shape of a book!”
This was a familiar and exciting feeling for Wright, who has already penned three other publications and was excited to share her spiritually-guided perspectives on another important aspect of Christian life.
Wright’s first book, Marketing: A Kingdom Perspective, emerged after completing her marketing major and recognising the relevance of those principles in reshaping the church’s approach to service. In her second book, God’s Brand Manifested Through Me, she reminds fellow believers that they are representatives of God on earth and should exemplify it in their daily lives. Inspired by her former pastor’s instruction to carry study cards with scriptures, her third publication, Treasures from His Word (Nuggets for Daily Living), was born.
Now through this most recent publication, which is available for purchase on Amazon and through her business God’s Brand Collections (godsbrand_collections on Instagram), Wright fearlessly addresses the societal expectations that surround marriage while championing the concept of embracing a single life with joy and purpose. It explores topics such as self-worth, dealing with loneliness and sexual desires, patience, and grace for the wait.
Wright, who has been a member of the Church of God of Prophecy since 1999, shared that she wrote the book with single women in mind, especially Christian women who may be feeling despondent and discouraged in their singleness.
“I wanted to use scriptures and experiences to remind them that being single affords us the gift of time, and we are encouraged to use this to our advantage to better ourselves and to get closer to the one who ultimately holds our future in His hands,” she said.
In her younger years Wright never imagined that she would someday become a published author. The Bull Savannah, St Elizabeth, native who attended The Hampton School for Girls shared that her aspiration was to become a lawyer or journalist; however in upper high school she decided to pursue business subjects instead. This led her to read for a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies (marketing major), then a Master of Science in Marketing and Data Analytics at The University of the West Indies.
“As a full-time marketer with over 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry, I decided to use this birthday as a period of reflection and gratitude for the beautiful journey that my life has been so far, and as an opportunity to share this joy with others through my writing,” she said.
And while she remains open to becoming someone’s ‘Mrs Right’ if God sees it fit, she will be blooming and deliberately celebrating ‘Miss Wright’ until that time comes. Wright hopes to be able to not only publish more books but to use them as a basis to lead workshops, conventions, seminars and other speaking engagements globally, so that she can inspire as many people as possible.
“I am guided by this scripture in everything I do: ‘For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.’ (Acts 17:28). For me, this means that in Christ I am everything; outside of Him, I am nothing,” Wright said. “With this book I want to remind others that we are put on this earth to live, so live! Celebrate you! Bloom!”
