MORE THAN A MOTHER: Always there to ensure things are in order
RENEE ROSE, CATEGORY MANAGER, LASCO DISTRIBUTORS LIMITED
Children: Kadeem, 25, and the past students of Collins Close Basic School
“THE core role of being a mom to my son is to love him unconditionally, nurture, care for him physically and mentally,” Rose says.
“As his mom, I encourage and teach him good moral values as well as discipline, and train him into the young adult he is today. Based on his development and achievements thus far, I feel proud and believe I have done a great job in mothering him.
“I also believe I exhibit motherly qualities in my work and social life. How so? In my work environment, I encourage and guide my co-workers with their tasks once it is in my realm to do so. I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I can selflessly help fellow team members with their personal or professional development. I have also worked closely with children at the elementary level where I have provided support for them through reading, breakfasts, and other outreach programmes. Socially, I am the person who is always there to ensure things are in order, whether it is planning, or cleaning up after an event with friends. In addition, I am a listening ear to family, friends, and colleagues, that shoulder you can lean on, which is something I don’t take for granted.”
