Sheena Rampaul-Nagrani: A Life Revamped
SHEENA Rampaul-Nagrani feels that her life’s purpose is to offer hope. And so as founder and executive director of Life Revamped, a foundation she started late last year, she has been helping people “without specific cause or demographic”.
“My husband told me once that life’s vitals, even more so than the physical vitals such as heart rate, oxygen level and blood pressure, are hope, spirit and pride,” she shared.
“Without hope and spirit, there is no life at all. In essence, this is what my foundation is predicated on — the offering of hope. As simple and cliché as it may sound, I truly want to help people. And this brings me an unparalleled joy. Nothing makes me happier.”
Originally named Life Transformers, the foundation’s name was changed to Life Revamped, which Rampaul-Nagrani said fit more in line with its vision and mission statement.
In three months she has done remarkably — even through the formation and registration stage of the foundation, Life Revamped has helped over 30 people, totalling nearly $2,000,000.
A mother from Kingston received a brand new HP laptop for her son, as well as funds, one year paid up school fees, and clothing, school supplies and groceries.
An elderly man Rampaul-Nagrani met at the Jamaica Society for the Blind receives weekly groceries, and visually impaired aides such as talking watch and clock, household items, utility bill payments and clothing. Jamaica Society for the Blind was also granted a wish list in the amount of $400,000.
The Jamaica Down Syndrome Foundation also benefited from a donation, and another woman from Manchester was gifted money, and building supplies.
A physically challenged teen from St Catherine received a stove, wheelchair, money, groceries, household items and medication.
“Our primary goal is to make a difference in the country today and forever,” Rampaul-Nagrani shared.
“We vow to give passionate and continuous support. Life Revamped is a generosity of spirit. We have a profound, natural desire to help people, and we know that we will make a difference.”
Born and raised in Kingston, Rampaul-Nagrani, a mother of two, says she faced a lot of adversity and challenging circumstances growing up, which made her tough and resilient — however, from a young age, her heart has been full of compassion for those who lack, and those who suffer.
The Holy Childhood alumna, who is also CEO if Tranzcend, a wellness company, and marketing director at Bethmed Pharma, said she has held many job titles — pilot in training, brand manager, regional manager, customer service manager — but none have brought her the joy and feeling of fulfilment that Life Revamped has.
“It’s truly my purpose and destiny to uplift the lives of those who need it the most,” she said.
