Body contouring is a lifestyle
WHILE we tend to be insecure about the size and proportion of different body parts, or even our entire bodies, the waistline is a cause for concern for most men and women. The number of inches around a woman’s waist can be the difference between having the shape of a Coca-Cola bottle or an Arizona can, and for men it can affect whether women see them as magnificent lions or hibernating polar bears.
We diet, we exercise, we inhale sharply for photographs, but try as we might many of us just can’t get the rebellious belly under control. It’s as if the food doesn’t want to leave our stomachs when we eat.
If only there was a way to train it…
There are several ways, styles and colours to do just that, explained Body Contouring by VenPosh Managing Director Venice Anderson, as she leafed through the collection of waist trainers, vests, compression boards, and other body contouring products in her Springs Plaza, St Andrew boutique.
“It’s really a lifestyle,” she said. “Our clients always want to look and feel good in their bodies and we help them to do just that.”
While VenPosh does not offer in-house cosmetic surgery, it has carved quite a niche for itself in providing treatment and products for the ever-growing clientèle of surgically enhanced luxury dolls. They also stock a wide array of shapewear, detox teas, weight loss and gain supplements, remedies and services to help clients achieve their ideal shape.
Anderson noted that her store is a one-stop shop for all types of surgery-free contouring, and post-surgery maintenance.
“Once a client comes in for a consultation, we talk with them to find out what exactly they are trying to achieve, and which services or products would suit them best. Sometimes a woman may just be looking for a waist trainer to wear under the perfect dress for a special night out, and other times it might be someone who has undergone surgery and is trying to keep their shape using our compression garments,” she said.
Anderson pointed out that although shapewear and body contour treatment might provide a shortcut to the dream body, it is still up to the clients to ensure that they stay on the right path.
“If you eat wrong, and if you don’t exercise, you will get back the fat. Even if you do surgery but you don’t come and do your maintenance every now and then, you can lose the shape that you went under the knife for,” she cautioned.
