AW Fashion: Paris Fashion Week Runway Trends
Paris Fashion Week started high and ended on the same note with established brands showcasing their very best for fall/winter 2018.
Christian Dior, Balmain, Isabel Marant and Saint Laurent were but a few of the iconic fashion houses sharing tales of their opulent travels — Western America for Isabel Marant and Moscow for Peter Dundas and his newly conceived eponymous brand. Or else they were making politically charged statements — as the tone of late has been — with Maria Grazia Chiuri’s “youthquake” and “feminist”/60s-inspired collection (US Vogue) or varying motifs/trends that looked to the future (US Vogue on Balmain).
On the runways 80s-inspired, heavy-top minis could be spotted along with all-black/”blackout” pieces, the return of the trench, luminescent fabrics in silk, lamé or PVC and, of course, the ever-so-decadent velvet pleuche. It was all luxe and very impressive.
All Woman Fashion ends our Fashion Week trend watch with the Parisian runways.
