Embarrassing office party stories
EMPLOYEES look forward to December every year, because this is the time when they are treated by their employers. Office parties are fun; they provide the chance to relax with your colleagues since the conversations are not work-related. However, sometimes people forget that they are still in the presence of their co-workers and bosses, and drink excessively and behave inappropriately. All Woman asked readers to share some of their most embarrassing encounters at office parties.
Shelly C, 23:
I went to a friend’s office party one year. This lady got drunk and started to tell a manager how she felt about him. She was loud, and was touching him all over his body. I think he felt bad for her because he held her two hands and led her away. Soon after, I saw him putting her in a taxi.
Hanna M, 37:
On a trip overseas I went to an office party. My friend’s colleague, who is usually quiet, started drinking and telling everyone too many details about her sex life, including the fact that she loved going to those parties where you swap partners.
Alicia T, 30:
I had a terrible bellyache but in the evening it eased up a bit. I was determined to go to the party. At the party the pain came back and so did the urge to do number two. I started to pass gas loudly and rapidly. I barely made it to the restroom. The time in the bathroom felt like forever. When I came out everyone was looking at me.
Mark P, 26:
My friend invited her then boyfriend to an office party. I warned her about taking him, but she wouldn’t listen to me. He got drunk and picked a fight with her supervisor. She was so embarrassed. Luckily people pulled him away before it escalated. She broke up with him after that.
Taina C, 30:
Last office party, the office attendant got up on the stage and proceeded to wine and wine all night, as if she was in a trance. She jumped on the performers like those stage dancers, and she knew the latest moves to every song. They flung her here and there like a doll, and she was loving it up. Before that display we all thought she was a Christian, as she would hum and sing religious songs every morning while she cleaned the offices. But that night she “bruk out”, then had the audacity to say that she didn’t remember anything when we confronted her afterwards.
Lucy B, 43:
I was living overseas a few years ago on one of those small islands. The office party was held at a local restaurant and bar. We were a small unit — just about 12 of us. I had several screwdrivers (vodka and orange juice) to drink, and all I know is what my bosses told me afterwards. I was allegedly down on the floor, butt in the air, with one of the landscapers behind me, gyrating to calypso music for much of the night, and afterwards my boss had to escort me home.
