Sagicor adopts 3 schools
THREE rural basic schools were ‘adopted’ for the 2017-2018 academic school year under the Sagicor Foundation Adopt A School programme.
They are A.M.E. Basic School in Clarendon, D’Frank Early Childhood Institution in Manchester, and Haughton Grove Early Childhood Institution in Hanover.
The input for each school will be approximately $1.5 to $2m, and will see Sagicor carrying out projects and addressing some critical needs of the schools.
Activities announced at the launch on October 20 at the Jamaica Pegasus include the expansion of a new classroom at A.M.E. Basic, the construction of a new sick bay at D’Frank Early Childhood, and providing necessary infrastructural repairs to Haughton Grove.
