AW Fashion: Rock Bars & More
Twenty-four-year-old final-year student at the University of the West Indies Monique Fitzgerald is the creative force behind Fitzgerald’s Boutique Body Essentials. A company created, she shared with All Woman Fashion, to meet the needs of individuals who prefer to “incorporate wholesome natural products into their skincare routine”.
What caught our eyes was the Independence soap created to celebrate Jamaica’s 55th year of Independence. “Our culture is very important to me,” Fitzgerald said. “I wanted to create a product that reflects that. That she has done and more!
In addition to the Independence soap, there’s the much in-demand charcoal and bentonite clay soap believed to be effective against acne and for detoxing the skin. In addition to turmeric, lavender, mint, pink Himalayan salt, tea tree and charcoal facial bars, there are Guinness, tea tree and eucalyptus, and lemongrass soaps.
The feedback has motivated Fitzgerald. “I’m told that the soaps do not dry out the skin, soothes various ailments and that the smell is amazing,” she shared.
What’s more, the soaps are made in small batches to ensure quality and freshness to the consumer, and glycerin, the ultimate moisturiser, is never stripped from the product during the soap-making process.
