All Woman, 20 years on
TWENTY years.
At the time the
All Woman magazine took root on April 15, 1996, the idea pushed by founding editor Gina Morley was to present women in a more holistic light and to highlight the everyday issues in which they were interested.
Its tagline then was “For the woman who wants it all”; and today is no different.
For the last two decades
All Woman has followed and highlighted the progress in the women’s movement world over, adapting to the changes and adjusting with the times.
Empowering women and girls is no easy feat, and over the years we’ve highlighted many women who have, some under the radar, sought to take on this challenge in small or extraordinary ways.
It’s some of these women who we recognise today, as we celebrate 20 years as a publication.
Listed over the next several pages are 50 female movers and shakers, stalwarts in their various fields, who have been boldly and fiercely blazing new paths for women and girls.
This they’ve done not only by excelling in their various fields, climbing the career ladder, but while shattering glass ceilings, also extending a hand of kindness through mentorship, various foundations and through philanthropic work.
And though the list of such women is by no means exhaustive, this is what separates the women we’ve highlighted today from the rest — the desire to work day in and day out to enact change.
As we celebrate our anniversary, we invite you to share in the successes of the women featured, women who through their achievements make us proud to belt out Helen Reddy’s I am woman, hear me roar.
