drennaLUNA Goes Mainstream!
The season finale of Britain’s Next Top Model (BNTM), which aired in the UK on March 17 on Lifetime TV, was shot on location — October 19 and 20, 2015 in Jamaica — at the ultra-luxe Sandals Royal Plantation and Sandals Ochi Beach Resort.
The episode revealed the three finalists battling for the win in a Bridal Challenge and competing for a number of prizes which included a national campaign for Head & Shoulders, a contract with Models1, and a fashion spread in Cosmopolitan magazine.
There was, too, a huge boost for local fashion design house drennaLUNA, whose designs were worn for the final challenge, a bridal photoshoot on location at Sandals Royal Plantation.
In addition, the finalists wore designs by Mission Catwalk alums Ryan Chan and Jae Jolly, and formal wear by drennaLUNA – all accesorised by RÊVE Jewellery – at the finale runway show at Sandals Ochi Beach.
#TeamdrennaLUNA told All Woman Fashion that “…the opportunity came on the recommendation of fellow designer Simone Nielsen, designer of the miSim and miSimBeachBabe brand, who was contacted by The Sandals group to be part of the show”.
The BNTM group followed up on the recommendations, perused the drennaLUNA website, was impressed with what they saw and following a few e-mail exchanges, which included images of drennaLUNA formal and bridal pieces — drennaLUNA was confirmed for the shoot.
“drennaLUNA Bridal has been operating for the past two to three years primarily with bridesmaids’ dresses and a number of brides”, shared the label’s client and marketing manager Angelie Martin- Spencer, “and are ready to fully explore this market… this is a great start for that division and huge exposure for the brand on the international scene.”
