The crazy things he/she did that made me leave
THERE are many things we’ll disregard in relationships in the name of love, things like cheating and nagging, just because we don’t want to rock the boat. A relationship is a big investment, and it’s not very easy to pull out of an investment to which you’ve dedicated a lot of time and resources.
But sometimes one partner does something so strange, so crazy, so unusual, that hitting the road is the only option.
What are some of the crazy things an ex has done that made you leave?
Derrick C, 38
She cut up my appliances. We had an argument about another girl one morning — and she accused me of cheating with this girl she knew. And when I got home that evening the cords of my refrigerator, television, iron — every appliance — were cut off! If she can do that then she would do anything, so I just told her to move out.
Gloria H, 34:
He would sniff my underwear each day. My boyfriend was really jealous. I couldn’t talk to anybody else. Every evening when I went home this man would tell me to take off my underwear and he would smell it. After about two months of it I left him. He didn’t even make leaving him easy.
Joseph T, 43:
She called all my friends. We had an argument and she called my friends and told them a lot of things about me. She even called some of my ex-girlfriends and told them that she knew now why they broke up with me and told them things I had told her in confidence. That made me feel like a boy, so I left her. Obviously she has mental issues.
Eula G, 41:
I couldn’t keep a cellphone. My husband would either break my phones in two if they rang and I refused to tell him who it was, or I would wake up and my phone was just missing. And of course when I asked him he would tell me he did not know where they were, even though we lived alone. On top of that he would call me 10 times in half an hour after I left work to find out where I was. If I didn’t answer he would accuse me of cheating. I lost seven phones that way.
Trevor J, 47:
She banned me from seeing my own mother. I had a woman who told me that I spent too much time with my mother and that it was her time now. It reached the stage where she told me that I should not see my mother again, and if she found out I did, I wouldn’t like what she would do. I left her instantly.
Everton C, 28:
She took my phone and called every woman on my contact list. She told them that I was her man and they were to leave me alone. This included even family members and people I know through work. It was very embarrassing!
Ronald M, 42:
She kept threatening to kill herself if I left her. Every time I tried to leave her she would threaten to kill herself. One time she overdosed on tablets and one time she cut her wrist, so I knew she was serious. I went overseas to work and that was how I finally got rid of her.
Otis T, 33:
She told me that she used to buy oil to tie her men. Then one day I saw a vial bottle with something looking like oil on the dresser. I ran!
Melva R 31:
He told me that his ex stabbed up two women over him. I stayed far from him from that day. And the funny thing is that he said it with a wide smile, like it was something to be proud of.
