The Perfect Clutch
Eric George 654 — that’s the name given by Ericka Donaldson for her impressive collection of handbags, each made by her in under three hours with material sourced between LP Azar and Ping’s fabric.
The Inspiration Board
Donaldson has used the loss of her father, Eric George Donaldson, last October and her daughter, Tyler-rae who was born in April 2007, died in May and was buried in June of that year (hence 654) to inspire the collection’s name.
It is, too, the ethos behind the creation of beautiful clutches that are as functional during the day as they are at night. Plus, most of the bags are reversible.
“I had a birthday party to attend, didn’t have a clutch and literally made one. The feedback was extraordinarily positive. I’m into fashion and interiors, but figured that making clutches could be an option.”
That option has turned into a highly sought after collection. The bags are, by the way, attractively priced so even those of us with waaay too many already will rationalise the need for yet another.
And since we must spread the love for 2015 — Donaldson’s clutches make great gifts for family and friends, too.
