Sex or the smartphone?
SMARTPHONES have more or less become like second skin for many men, and many women have complained that the phone goes everywhere their men go, for some even in Ziploc bags in the shower. Some have been accused of neglecting their partners in favour of Candy Crush; others reach for the devices during dinner, and even immediately after lovemaking.
It’s the first thing he sees when he wakes up, and the last thing he checks before he goes to bed. We all know how important smartphones have become to our men, but are there men who would choose the devices over intimate times with their women? We asked men, if you had to, which would you give up — your smartphone or sex?
Calvin Beecher, senior project manager:
That would be sex. I would keep the phone. I use my phone more than I have sex anyway.
Andre Tulloch, security officer:
I would choose sex over the smartphone. This is because of one simple reason: people were created to be loved and things were created to be used. The reason why I think there’s so much chaos in Jamaica, and the world in general is because things are being loved and people are being used. So I would definitely give up the phone.
Dwight Ross, radio personality/comedian:
This is a very hard question because I have to use my smartphone for my livelihood, which in turn takes care of my family. But if I had to give up one forever, it would have to be the smartphone, because there must be other means of communication. But if it was to give one up for a while then it would be sex. I could hold out for a year, maximum, if I am getting a prize at the end to motivate me. If there is no prize, maximum six months of touching nothing, not even myself!

Without a doubt I would give up my smartphone.

Depends on who the sex is with. But the phone for sure.
Dion Gardner, security consultant:
I would give up my smartphone. A regular phone would suffice, allowing me to make and receive important calls, and also spend more time concentrating on her. This would create an atmosphere for even more sex.
