Vows — Everlasting Love
The picturesque Trident Castle provided the perfect backdrop, on Saturday, May 3, for the nuptials of CEO of AMC Holdings Group of Companies, Adriel McKay, and Marketing Manager of AAMM Co-operative Credit Union, Daidre Sloley.
The two met at a JEF Conference seven years ago, and their friendship has blossomed into an everlasting love. Daidre admits that initially she gave Adriel the cold shoulder; Adriel’s persistence, however, eventually won her over.
Both complemented each other so perfectly that all their families and friends waited with great expectancy for the announcement of their marriage.
Adriel, the adventurous daredevil, popped the question to the always calm and composed love of his life on her 30th birthday last July, during dinner at Majestic Sushi and Grill in Kingston. Her mom and sister were also included as part of the surprise.
After having a little difficulty cutting into her strawberry cheesecake dessert, Daidre discovered the Hearts on Fire diamond which was followed by: “I am ready, will you marry me?”
During that same month, the couple vacationed in Portland where they both fell in love with the Trident properties and made their wedding venue selection.
Laughter and tears were the magical prelude to what would turn out to be the happiest and most memorable day of their lives thus far.
Daidre wore a fit and flare Vera Wang gown, while Adriel was styled by local designer Carlton Brown. Towering and cascading arrangements with roses, lilies and orchids, the bride’s favourite flowers, decorated the lawns of the Castle for the ceremony.
Guests enjoyed live entertainment during the cocktail hour at the poolside, and the grand reception was held at Mike’s Supper Club, located at Trident Hotel. The couple enjoyed a threeweek honeymoon in Italy and France.
