Big up yourself — Part 2
The charismatic Andrea ‘Betty’ Garvey — a Jamaica Observer team member and ardent reader of our fashion and beauty pages — is still in zen mode after her day of pampering at the award-winning spa, The Face Place, where Managing Director Marie Hall-Smith and her team kick-started phase one of our Monday Makeover project.
Garvey’s next stop… a trip to beauty guru Racquel Jenkins Moss-Solomon, proprietor of Racquel J Make-Up Studio. The results — let’s just say that we’re still picking our jaws up from the ground!
Here’s how Racquel Jenkins Moss-Solomon transformed Andrea ‘Betty’ Garvey into a runway model.
STEPS:
1 The face is first cleansed to remove excessive dirt and oils.
2 Eve Pearl High Definition Dual Pressed Powder is lightly applied to the face, using a make-up sponge.
3 As a base, a light shade of
eyeshadow is applied to
the lids.
4 The glam factor is upped with a shade of eyeshadow from the Eve Pearl Violet/Purple eye palette — which is followed by the application of a slightly winged streak of black liquid liner to the lids.
5 False eyelashes are added for increased length and volume.
6 To make the lips pop, Jenkins Moss-Solomon opted for a sultry shade of red lipstick, outlined with a light brown
lip pencil.
7 Make Up Forever
Sculpting Blush is brushed onto the cheekbones for greater definition.
8 An application of Eve Pearl High Definition Dual Pressed Powder is used to contour the bridge of the nose and complete Garvey’s gorgeous transformation.
