Of Recalls, Prosperity and Credit Cards..
Blame it all on Digicel’s Harry Smith, as we all will when that roaming bill appears. But as we sipped tea miles away, those verandah experts called to say that daddy had taken the fall for his son, and guess what? Daddy has never even worn Puma. Why are people so awful?
Eleanor Felix left Jamaica on Friday for Cuba.
Maxine Roberts has been recalled and will be back home come December 1.
According to roaming, the deputy is also under recall watch too. That one should be worth watching since she’s super connected.
And since we’re on the topic of recall, let’s recall them all. Close down the offices for a week. Some are badly in need of refurbishment (we mean tape holding up bandana over the fireplace and chairs that can no longer hold derrieres), and replace with those persons able to open doors overseas. Persons to preside over elegant dinner parties (fund raise) and tell the world for example that before there was OutRage, Jamaica was the preferred vacation spot for those into same sex relationships (still is, one only has to know where to go) and that our reggae musicians are loyal supporters of homosexuals. After all, check out their designer bling.
Oh well, Vanity Fair’s November issue features Chris Blackwell, Sean Paul and Rita Marley (some of her boys too). Thankfully, brand Jamaica is still very strong.
Poverty Sucks!
Now, since Kingsley has investors interested in Harmony Cove, let’s get a few things straight. Rich folks hate to feel guilty about having the millions and spending big bucks: that’s why they follow each other around, and since Concorde’s last flight now travel by PJ (private jet). Same reason St Bart’s is the preferred destination for mega yachts too.
So.in the event that any decide to spend a night in the capital.can we please clean up the filthy streets?
Ask those officers at The New Kingston Post to patrol, not stand together under the shade on Knutsford Boulevard and at least attempt to keep the drugged- out, peddlars etc off the streets.
Life goes on.
In the midst of all this, the Melville family officially opened the Villagio Gaming Room. Alexander did the family proud with fab wife Mandy at his side Thursday last, and the fabulous queen of style Carmen Brown plans to open her spectacular store (think Nordstrom’s) on Constant Spring Road by November 20.
Businesswoman Dorothy Thomas celebrated another super year with lots of champagne.
Kerry Ann Clarke is all set to open her own atelier on South Avenue just in time for Christmas.
A Bientot!
PS. Now that the minister is back on the Rock could somebody please explain to him how to use a credit card (perhaps Omar) or better still explain to our overseas officers how to save face.
PPS And there he was, the banker (the one with the bodyguards), totally discombobulated when security guards dared to stop him for a search at the Norman Manley airport. “Do you know who I am?” he barked. Naturally the guard was clueless and continued the search.
Tatler would love to see him try that stunt overseas.
