Of returning offspring and more, lots more
We’re breezing through this week, so hold on tight. Here goes.
Birthday girl Kristina Newman got a surprise birthday bash from mom, dad, and soon to be hubby, Gordon Scott, Friday last.
Janice Elliot is passing through the city en route to the UK, and Brussels, prior to putting down anchor for four years in Ethiopia, with constant companion European Union’s Jannik Vaa. Janice, you might recall, was in Barbados, for two years.
And the attorney (don’t be silly, cannot call the name yet) has resigned and is all set to move to the other bank.
Just when others were about to convince us that Jamaica was not the place to live…The children of the beautiful people are all returning to the Rock. Jamie Stewart seems to have started the trend. Mark McConnell is also back as is former South Beach ‘It’ girl Tina Myers (look out for the cool Lexus). And there are more – lots more – en route.
Maureen German was also back home albeit briefly. She added her expertise to the Miss Jamaica World contestants.
Finally, a reason to visit Caymanas Park more than once a year. Red Stripe Superstakes is naturally, the only one. Now Howard Hamilton can elaborate more on the brunch at Saratoga but thanks to Bertie Rose and Lawrence Tulloch (they did the Digicel Irish Jamaican Stakes) we got an idea why folks journey year after year to Saratoga, Longchamps, and Ascot.
And if Michelle Hussey has an additional glow these days, it could be because the Monte Carlo Gaming room is up and running. It could also be because of the just completed Hemingway Suite. But it could be because of her new beau, the president… Let’s just say that he has a twin brother, is friends with the charming Ambassador Sue Cobb and is quite the romantic.
And it seems that the tall, suave one at Foreign Affairs, Douglas Saunders, is still enjoying the company of his best friend .
Oh yes, poverty still sucks for the vertically challenged one, who is still offering microwaves and toasters for sloppy kisses. Naturally at the end of the liaison he takes them back. Some are wondering if he has shares in…
The high brown son of the screen, has a one year old child from below the bridge. Let’s just say that pressure is being brought to bear on him and leave it at that. At least for this week.
A bientot!
PS The imported governesses (with no work permits) are asking for a salary increase. Some of them have come to understand that the minimum wage has gone up.
