Bridal accessories
Our June wedding feature today looks at the bride’s accessories on her special day and hats for her guests.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Then there’s the veil, the dress, the ring, the bouquet…
A stunning dress, a train, a veil, and gloves all speak to a minimalistic approach to accessories. A plunging neckline allows for an exotic piece of jewellery, hair and veil swept back allows for earings. A sleeveless dress is the perfect opportunity to wear opera gloves or a stunning piece of jewellery on the wrist. The mistake, made by many a bride on her wedding day, is to overdo it. Keep it simple, keep it chic. Allow guests and of course the groom to focus on your beauty. Make-up should be simple and highlight healthy glowing skin-leave the drama for later.
Hair accessories on your wedding day would point to the tiara, so avoid the multiple ringlet temptation.
The dress is the major attraction on this day. It is photographed at least a hundred times, will be in the video and is more obvious than the ring. So wear the dress, and do not allow too many chains, bracelets, and clips to detract from its beauty.
Stockings, and the garter fall into wedding accessories and so too the shoes. Stockings are sexier on this day so opt for ultra sheer. Shoes ought to be comfortable – forget about breaking into wedding shoes.
It’s a one day affair. Opt for comfortable court style shoes. It’s a long day and even longer night, and it’s always lovely to see a bride enjoying her own party instead of complaining about uncomfortable shoes.
