The Diva concert was truly an exercise in diva patience which commenced from VIP cocktail night with the grimace on the face of the diva as she took a sip of the not too diva red wine. Then one had to deal with the true diva behaviour of the one who insisted on calling her daughter in the middle of the guest speaker’s wonderful speech and insisting that she speak on her ‘circular’ to the star. Oh well!
Those of us who watched, and re-watched Winford William’s wonderful interview with Gladys Knight and played every single one of her records in anticipation and who had seen her last three recent shows in Jamaica were sorely disappointed. I don’t know what happened but there was no true spark. Patti Labelle saved the night. Was Travis in the house?
