EnTIGHTlement: The laser vaginal rejuvenation
LAST time I explained in detail a new and innovative way to rejuvenate your vaginal tone — the HIFU machine.
However, as I explained on that occasion, the HIFU is not for everyone, and a thorough assessment of the vagina is necessary. As a woman ages, has more children and her oestrogen levels decrease, her vaginal muscles naturally weaken, resulting in a condition known as vaginal relaxation. When the vagina is relaxed, there is a loss of sexual gratification, as minimal to no friction is occurring between the penis and the vagina, resulting in lacklustre sex which can have a detrimental effect on the relationship. The HIFU machine can work magic for women who suffer from mild vaginal relaxation, but it is not the solution for moderate and maximum vaginal relaxation.
In the Jamaican society, most women believe that their vagina is perfect and has no flaws — that they all have the “vice grip” that the erstwhile Lady Saw (now Marion Hall) used to sing about. On the contrary, this is not true. Many Jamaican women do suffer from vaginal relaxation and may actually have a “balloon grip”, though they are in complete denial.
All is not lost, however. Laser vaginal rejuvenation is the solution for many. The procedure was pioneered 15 years ago by Dr David Matlock, a leading cosmetic gynaecologist to the celebrities in Beverly Hills. The procedure is permanent and is more than 95 per cent effective.
It involves using a laser to open the bottom and top floors of the vagina. When this is done, excess vaginal tissue is removed and the underlying muscle is brought back together with absorbable suture — returning the vagina to its youthful temperament. The laser is used as it is much more precise than a knife, and there is minimal bleeding. The one-hour procedure is usually done under general anaesthesia, and the patient can go home afterwards. Complications exist, but they are minimal, and include bleeding and infection. Women will be completely healed within six weeks and can resume sexual activity. The procedure is extremely safe.
The topic of vaginal rejuvenation is no longer taboo. Women tend to shy away from the topic, and some believe they have no issue with their vaginal tone.
I am here to encourage you. If you are suffering from vaginal relaxation, you can do something about it. Solutions are readily available in Kingston and Montego Bay.
