Fashion Face-Off
The excitement mounts as viewers across the island wait with bated breath to see who will win the exciting first season of reality TV show Mission Catwalk. After weeks of complex challenges, bruised egos and tensions escalating by the minute, the pool of thirteen budding fashionistas has been whittled down to two talented designers with very different styles.
In addition to local and international exposure through the catwalks of Miami Fashion Week, the winner of the competition will receive J$250,000.00 funding to produce their own clothing line courtesy of NCB; a fashion spread in SHE Caribbean Magazine; a contract to sell their designs at Ammar’s clothing stores; a scholarship to further their studies in fashion at Edna Manley College; industrial equipment valued at JMD$200,000.00 to set up a sewing studio from NCB; and an internship with an international design house. But who will rule the catwalk?
A panel of dynamic judges including host and executive producer Keneea Linton-George mentor Sandra Kennedy; Novia McDonald-Whyte, Lifestyle Editor – Jamaica Observer and Carlton Brown, international men’s fashion designer decides the fate of the contender.
AW shares classic looks by Ayanna Dixon and Shenna Carby to help you choose your Mission Catwalk winner.
Ayanna Dixon
A silently strong contender throughout, the Cherry Gardens native has won two of the eleven weekly challenges thus far. She continues to construct wearable designs with a classic flair
Shenna Carby
Ostensibly the crowd favourite, Shenna hails from the inner city and exhibits a fascinating persona offset by an edgy appeal, which is very evident in her designs. She has won five of the 11 weekly challenges thus far.
