Liverpool’s Premier League destiny on the line as Tottenham visit Anfield

Nottingham Forest aim to end season on high note against Man City in FA Cup semi-final

LIVERPOOL sits on the cusp of a second Premier League title in five years if they can beat Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday, while Nottingham Forest will be aiming to top off an excellent season when they face Manchester City in an eagerly anticipated FA Cup semi-final clash.

Event # 1 – FA Cup– Nottingham Forest vs Man City – 10:30 am

Nottingham Forest will be looking to top off their excellent season when they square off with Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Forest are currently third in the Premier League standing and are aiming to end their impressive season with Champions League qualification and a trophy, which would mark their best season since 1990. With that said, Nottingham Forest will enter this clash in a confident mood, having beaten Manchester City 1-0 at home when both teams met a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are seeking redemption, hoping to end a season that will be considered their worst in the Pep Guardiola era as they sit 18 points behind league leader Liverpool in the standing. Indeed the “light Blues”, Man City, will be aiming to lift the FA Cup to cap off a disappointing Premier League campaign. With that said, they enter this game off the back of a resounding 5-2 thrashing they dished out to Crystal Palace over the weekend. Man City have picked up form in recent times, winning four of their last five matches, and will be aiming to continue their good form in this FA Cup semi-final, knowing that it’s the only trophy they can possibly win this season.

Key Stats

● Nottingham Forest– This will be the first time Nottingham Forest have reached the FA Cup semi-final since 1991. However, the last time they met Man City in an FA Cup game in 2009, Nottingham won that game.

● Man City – Manchester City are unbeaten in their last six overall matches.

● Both sides – The last time both teams met, Nottingham Forest beat Man City 1-0 at home.

The betting tip: Man City win.

Event # EPL – Liverpool vs Tottenham – 11:30 am

Anfield wait with bated breath as Liverpool sit on the cusp of a second Premier League title in five years — and they will be looking to get the job done when they host Tottenham on Sunday. Liverpool will enter this vital clash as firm favourites as the Reds know that victory will see them crowned as Champions for only the second time in the Premier League era, with their first coming in the 2020 season. If the Reds go on to lift the title this season they will draw level with their great rivals Manchester United on 20 league titles.

Liverpool will be confident of getting the job done at home against a Tottenham side they thrashed 6-3 at Tottenham Stadium, and they dominated them again in the second leg of their league cup clash, winning 4-0. Liverpool have the best home record in the Premier League while Tottenham’s away record is abysmal as they have won just five of their 16 games on the road.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s Premier League’s performance has been nothing short of disastrous as they sit 16th in the league, meaning their campaign is as good as over as they can’t even make it to the top half of the table. However, Tottenham can still end this season with a trophy as they secured a semi-final spot in the Europa League where they will face Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt. With that said, Tottenham enter this match off the back of a (1-2) loss against Nottingham on Monday at home. In their last away match Tottenham were battered (4-2) by the Wolves, which means they have lost seven and won only three of their 10 away matches. With such poor away form and travelling to face the best home team in the Premier League, Tottenham will be hoping to create the upset and in doing so delay Liverpool winning the Premier League on their home turf.

Key Stats

• Liverpool – Victory for Liverpool would make it seven straight wins at home in the league and extend their 15-match unbeaten run at home in the league.

• Tottenham – Tottenham have lost their last three away matches in the Premier League.

• Both sides – Liverpool are unbeaten at home against Tottenham in their last 15 head-to-head clashes. Indeed, Liverpool have won three of their last four games against Tottenham, with each of those wins having at least four goals for the Reds.

The betting tip: Liverpool win.
