‘Money answereth all things’
Christian financial expert moves to debunk myth that money is the root of evil
ADRIAN Adman’s passion for financial literacy began with lessons learnt from his mother’s careful stewardship of their resources as a child.
Now a chartered accountant and senior finance executive with more than two decades of experience, Adman is on a mission to share the wisdom learnt at his mother’s knees to help others take control of their finances with confidence.
At the core of that mission is a determination to shatter misconceptions about money by showing individuals how to build wealth using biblical wisdom, manage debt and risk effectively, and cultivate a healthy relationship with money. That roadmap is contained in Adman’s first book, titled Money Answereth All Things (MAATH), which he launched recently.
Premised on the Bible’s Ecclesiastes 10:19, the book presents a scriptural approach to financial freedom through which Adman, a seasoned accountant and minister, leverages biblical principles to guide readers toward prosperity.
The comprehensive guide, which rests on five pillars of financial wisdom, explores 52 Bible-based money management principles.
Each principle begins with a scripture, followed by insightful discourse, practical suggestions, and key takeaways with the author sharing personal experiences and examples, illuminating scripture’s relevance to everyday financial decisions.
“My father would tell me it’s a very controversial topic saying, money answereth all things, but it is grounded in the word of God,” Adman, who has an MBA in banking and finance, told individuals at the recent launch of the book.
He said he chose the title of the book to counter the narrative that money is evil and did not align with a Christian lifestyle.
“It’s a very controversial topic… but I knew in reading it that this was grounded in the word of God,” said Adman.
“The first thought that would come to your mind — especially from a Christian background or even people with whom I have interacted — is money being the root of all evil [instead of the correct rendering in 1 Timothy 6:10, which says], ‘The love of money is the root of all evil’. So I said, ‘listen, we have to change that narrative because the Scripture says money answereth all things’,” added Adman.
“The book brings together two subjects that people don’t like to put together, money and the Bible. People don’t like to mix money and the Bible, it gets very awkward, it gets very uncomfortable and so everybody could do with a little bit of financial wisdom. You need the Bible and you need the money,” declared Adman.
Speaking at the book launch Adman’s brother, Andre, endorsed the mission.
“It is certainly an absolute privilege to stand here as a big brother to talk about my younger brother, who has done a tremendous work. I am absolutely proud, I am happy and let me put it this way, it is music to my ears,” said Andre, a sought-after music tutor and gifted artiste.
Adman’s book, which will hit local bookshops soon, is available on Amazon’s Kindle as well as Apple Books or via direct order from @wisdomfinancesolutions on Instagram and Facebook.
