Securys touts growth, partnerships in Jamaica after one year
Global data protection firm Securys recently marked its first anniversary in the Jamaican market, touting that it has firmly established itself as a leader in the Caribbean’s evolving digital security landscape.
The high-profile celebration reception on the ninth floor of the PanJam Building in Kingston brought together government officials, business leaders, and key stakeholders to recognise Securys’ impact and reaffirm its commitment to the region.
British High Commissioner to Jamaica, Judith Slater, lauded Securys for what she said has been its swift and meaningful contribution to the Caribbean’s digital economy.
“Securys has proven that responsible data protection is not just a regulatory necessity, it’s a pillar of trust in today’s business world. Strengthening industries, securing personal data, and helping organisations navigate the complexities of compliance with confidence, it’s inspiring to see a UK-founded company thriving in Jamaica and playing a key role in the region’s digital transformation,” Slater said.

The Securys team marks one year of operations in Jamaica.
Since launching in Jamaica, Securys has also secured major contracts with leading government agencies, including the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Auditor General’s Department, and Sagicor Group Jamaica. The company’s expertise in data protection and regulatory compliance has positioned it as a trusted partner for organisations navigating Jamaica’s Data Protection Act and global privacy standards.
As one of Securys’ key clients, Sagicor Group Jamaica said it has experienced firsthand the company’s expertise in navigating privacy regulations. Willard Brown, Chief Technology and Insurance Operations Officer at Sagicor, praised the partnership.
“We are delighted to have Securys onboard as our Data Protection Partner. Securys’ collaboration with our team showcases a profound grasp of financial services and a comprehensive knowledge of global and local privacy regulations,” Brown said. “Their practical guidance and support have played a pivotal role in ensuring timely compliance with the Data Protection Act across our extensive Group, effectively safeguarding the data of our diverse stakeholders.”
Securys Group Chief Executive Officer, Ben Rapp, reflected on the company’s rapid growth and the strategic role of its Jamaican operations.
“We came to Jamaica with a vision, not just to open an office, but to create a center of excellence for data protection in the Caribbean. One year later, we’ve built strong partnerships, supporting organisations of all sizes, and established Securys as a trusted resource for businesses navigating an increasingly complex data landscape,” he said.
Additionally, Securys recently signed Memoranda of Understanding to further expand its impact in Jamaica with the Jamaica Information Service Association (JISA) and the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA). It noted that this highlights its commitment to strengthening the nation’s digital resilience.
Through these collaborations, Securys will provide essential guidance on data protection, helping media professionals uphold ethical data practices and empowering manufacturers and exporters with compliance strategies to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
